New product updates notification delivery process!
November 2005
Based on valuable customer feedback, HP OpenView has recently made some changes in order to improve the value and quality of your support experience. We are pleased to announce that we have simplified the process of delivering product update notifications to you!
Starting in December 2005 you will begin to receive one letter per month containing a consolidated list of available, eligible software updates. Please note that you will only receive a letter if a product you have has an available update. You will also be given the option to receive the CDs or DVDs (if available) you need. Upon receipt of your first consolidated letter, simply review the list of available software updates, select the ones you need and follow the simple instructions on how to request the updates. It's that simple!
Alternately, you can utilize our online tool, Software Update Manager (SUM) to sign up for e-mail notification or updates, access electronic download of many HP OpenView products as well as request physical shipment for all HP OpenView products.
How to migrate to SUM
Migration to SUM is fast and easy. HP OpenView customers can access regional Software Update Manager web pages at http://www.hp.com/managementsoftware/software_updates
Here you will also find a Software Update Manager easy-to-follow user?s guide (make the word user guide a link to http://support.openview.hp.com/pdf/sum_user_guide.pdf) and FAQS to take you through the registration steps. Please note that you will need your system handle or SAID (service agreement ID) to initiate the process.
SUM access is also available through the general HP IT Resource Center at http://www.itrc.hp.com/
How to receive e-mail notifications
If you would like to change your new product notifications from surface mail to e-mail, please go to the Software Update Manager home page. Then click on the manage software notification link and then click on change notification method to e-mail to make the appropriate changes.
How to change your delivery address
If you are currently using SUM, material requests, including temporary or permanent address changes for delivery, may be submitted on-line, via HP Software Update Manager available online through the HP IT Resource Center at: http://www.itrc.hp.com/
