HP OpenView storage product transfer
February 2006
In an effort to provide you with a seamless support experience for your Storage products, HP is making some changes to assist you in achieving faster solutions for your HP hardware and HP OpenView Storage support needs. As of May 15, 2006, all of the HP OpenView Storage related support documents, patches, discussion forums and software updates will be aligned with your HP hardware documents on HP's IT Resource Center (ITRC) and HP's Business Support Center (BSC).
As with Software Support Online, on ITRC and BSC you will still be able to search for technical documents for quick problem resolution, participate in forums, log support cases and download patches for your HP OpenView Storage products.
Products being transitioned include the following:
- HP OpenView Storage Area Manager (OV SAM)
- Storage Accountant - Storage Allocater - Storage Area Manager - Storage Area Manager DPI - Storage Area Manager SDK - Storage Builder - Storage Node Manager - Storage Optimizer - Storage Provisioner
- HP OpenView Data Protector
- HP OpenView OmniBack II
- HP OpenView OmniStorage
- Open Spool
- Storage Media Operations
We will also move any current Software Support Online subscriptions for product related information to the ITRC and BSC Subscriber's Choice service for you. If you would like to make changes or update your subscription, access ITRC and select "subscribe to security bulletins & patch digests".
As of May 15, 2006, you should begin to use the ITRC and BSC portals as all of the HP OpenView Storage support-related documents will be removed from Software Support Online in the near future. ITRC will be the main avenue to utilize forums, log support cases, query the knowledge base for Engineering notes and download HP OpenView Data Protector and Storage Area Manager patches. BSC will be the main access point for all manual, troubleshooting & support documents (including support matrices), and HP OpenView Storage Area Manager Device Plugins (DPIs).
Please update your browser to: http://www.itrc.com for ITRC access and http://hp.com/support/bsc for BSC access for all of your future HP OpenView Storage and HP hardware support needs. Software Support Online will remain your one stop online support hub for all of your other HP OpenView needs.
