Technical service description

The Application Health Check is an analysis that provides you with a greater awareness of the potential risks to your HP OpenView environment focusing on the elements which directly impact system availability and reliability.

An evaluation will be done on your HP OpenView related application to ensure your application is running optimally. Your named engineer will evaluate your HP OpenView application by checking logfiles, parameters set in configuration files and reviewing the application monitored environment. The supportability of your environment can be affected if parameters aren't set correctly. The same is true when you don't use a combination of application features that best fits your managed environment.

A comprehensive report identifies conditions of attention and makes recommendations on ways to keep your application running optimally. The named engineer will guide you in planning and implementing these recommendations.

Requirements

In order for HP to deliver this technical service, the customer must:
  • Ensure that system hardware, software and network connections for the OpenView management server is fully operational (installed, configured and tested)
  • Designate a single staff member who will be responsible for directing service delivery and providing HP with required information and resources in a timely manner; the customer must also designate an operating system and network administrator with centralized responsibility and capable of addressing system and network issues
  • Plan appropriately for activities that may require an application or system to be restarted or taken down temporarily

Please work with your HP OpenView named engineer to qualify your request for delivery of a technical service and determine the amount of HP OpenView Specialist Team Days that are expected to be required for delivery of the service.

Availability & Limitations

The availability of service features may vary according to regional resources. Some geographical restrictions may apply. Services can only be delivered for HP OpenView products and management servers covered by your HP OpenView Premier Service support contract. Services are delivered during standard local business, excluding HP holidays.
